In Norse mythology, the hammer belonged to Thor, the Norse God of thunder. The Elder Futhark runes on the pendant read MJOLNIR, (mo-yol-nir) the name of Thor's hammer, from right to left. Mjolnir is commonly thought to mean "That which smashes". Wearing Thor's Hammer is an expression of strength and determination.
Details: The Thor's Hammer pendant is sterling silver and measures 34.4 mm long including the bail, 22.8 mm wide at the runes, 18.9 mm wide at the pommel and 5.8 mm wide at the narrowest part of the handle. The bail measures 5.4 mm top to bottom. The hammer weighs approximately 7 grams. The back of the pendant is partially carved out slightly to reduce weight and is stamped with our makers mark, copyright, and metal content.
